Dog Skin Diseases:

Diseases is an abnormal condition which effects the organic system or the parts of the body. It is proven by the signs which is reflected from the body. It is known as the medical condition of the body, caused by the external elements or internal deficiency. Same as human beings the dogs also get infected and suffer from many skin diseases. Dog Skin diseases are very common. Some of the most common dog skin diseases which are found in all breeds of dogs are:

Allergic Dermatitis:

It is a dog skin disease caused by the grooming products, foods and irritations due to environment caused by the insect bites. This allergy cause irritation which makes the dog continuous scratching which in results becomes ugly rashes on the body surface. Dew to continuous scratching the part of the skin can drain, ooze which can leave the part thickened or raw. Because of continuous scratching the part of the body is left red. This allergy can spread over the other parts of the body.

Yeast Infection: 

Yeast mostly infects the ears and the toes of the dog. The continuous scratching in ears and licking of toes is the symptom of yeast infection in dog. It can be understood by the discolored skin which is due to scratching. Ears and toes are the most cozy places on the dogs body where yeast can grow easily.

Folliculitis:

Folliculitis is the infection in the follicles which are the pores from where the hairs grow. This allergy is mostly caused by bacterial infection but can also be caused by the fungus or yeast. This infection is mostly seem to be found in the short haired dogs. This can be a disease in long haired dog as well which can be noticed by the dull or shedding coat. This causes because of other skin allergies or  problems. It usually looks like red pimple which have a single hair string in its center. Theses pimples may contain blood or pus, or both. If this get burst it ejaculates both.

Impetigo:

This bacterial allergy is mostly found in puppies who are under 1 year of age. This allergy occurs on the hairless part of the body and are in the form of pimples which contain pus. And after bursting it turns into a crust which is mostly brown in color. These are mostly found on the chin, lower lip and occasionally on the genital area. They are very painful and rupture easily which causes restlessness in the dogs.

Seborrhea

Seborrhea:

It is the allergy which causes dandruff on the dogs skin. The skin flakes can be dry, oily or greasy. This disease can be for lifetime which is also known as genetic disease. This disease mostly happens because of abnormal hormones.

Ringworm:

This allergy is not named because  of the worm. But is caused by the bacterial infection. This infection can cause patchy skin with hair loss. This allergy spread very fast and easily between the dogs sharing kennel.

Alopecia

Shedding and Hair Loss (Alopecia):

Alopecia is a term given to hair loss in dogs. This can lead to partial or complete loss of hairs from the dog’s body. This disease is found in all the dog breeds. Hair shedding is very common among the dog breeds but it can be caused intense due to poor nutrition or illness.

Mange (Mites)

Mange (Mites):

This inflammatory disease is caused by a small insects called Mites. Theses mites get easily transferred among the dog as well as the humans, but do not survives on the human body. The symptoms of this disease is red itchy skin, hair loss and sores on the body. These parasites makes the dog bite itself so intensely that it starts bleeding.

Fleas:

Fleas are the destruction to the pets. These insects are so tiny that they are not visible easily. But the eggs of the insect can easily be located on the dogs coat. Excessive licking and scratching can be a symptom of this disease. This disease causes the blood loss in dogs which can lead to anemia. This disease expose the dog to other parasites like tapeworm also.

 

Ticks

Ticks:

Ticks are the parasites which lives on the dogs body and sucks the blood to survive. The ticks stuck its mouth on the skin of the dog and start sucking the blood, which causes intense itching. Ticks can be located easily on the dogs body from bare eyes. Other than sucking blood from the hosts body it transmit bacterial infection in the body of the dog which can lead to extreme blood loss.

Acral Lick Granuloma:

This is caused by the excessive licking of the area, mostly caused on the front legs of the dogs. It results in the excessive itching dew to which the dog keep on licking the same part again and again which results into a disease.

Skin Tumors:

It is a hard lump on the dogs skin. These tumors can cause cancer or turn out to be a cancerous tumor. It can be found after the biopsy of the tumor that it is leading to cancer or not. If the lump is small then it is recommended to be removed.

Hot Spots:

It is a small burned patch like structure on the body which is commonly found on the chest, hips and head of the dog. They are hot in touch and is a result of bacterial infection, allergies or insect bites.

 

Immune Disorders

Immune Disorders:

In some cases when the infection does not heals converts into the immune disorder in the dogs. It leads to autoimmune disorder in which the immune cells of the body to the other immune cells. Which mostly results into kidney and skin problems.
